This is by far one of the best “workations” I have ever experienced. I truly traveled down to Florida with the Veenstra family for work, but we made the most of an amazing week leading up to it. I met the Veenstra’s my Junior & Senior year of college. I started to become really good friends with Kelly. I had known of her before my Junior year, but for whatever reason things did not click between us until later. Kelly & I have such a unique friendship. I feel as though I knew nothing about her to sharing in some of life’s most special moments.
Kelly & I quickly became very close. I think the one thing that drew us closer was when she encouraged me to take an internship in Ft. Wayne the summer between my jr & sr year of college. That meant I would be living near her. All the details aligned & she hooked me up with the Chastain family for lodging for the summer. I quickly started being around the entire Veenstra family that summer. I knew Tim (Kelly’s brother) from college as well, but this was the summer I got to know the ENTIRE family. Let me tell you, the Veenstra’s are nothing short of FUN! They are such a good time & know how to throw a good party. As I look at the first image above, one of my favorite things is knowing all of the Veenstra kids before their spouses came into the picture & having the opportunity to watch them grow in their faith and in their relationship with their significant other. I love them all!!
When Amanda (the bride) asked me about shooting her wedding & traveling to Florida, I couldn’t have been happier. We had the most gorgeous beach house with the pool to the left & just steps away from the beach. We could not have a more perfect set-up. Every morning Papa V & I got up for sunrise and took a long walk. The days were spent soaking up the sun, doing a little shopping & just enjoying the week celebrating Amanda + Jaylin.
Thank you Veenstra’s for an amazing week!! I love y’all & I am beyond thankful for your friendship. You certainly know how to make people feel special & have a wonderful time.
