WOW oh WOW is all I have to say about Jaylin + Amanda’s wedding. What a joy & PRIVILEGE it was to be able to capture this destination wedding. Amanda belongs to one of my favorite families, the Veenstras!! They are truly some of the most fun people to be around who love the Lord and give you the freedom to be nothing but yourself. I will soon be posting our entire week in Florida leading up to the wedding. You can see where we stayed, the beautiful scenery, rehearse & so much more. In the meantime, let’s just talk about Jaylin + Amanda and their WEDDING!!
They got married at Runaway Island in Panama City. It was about 20 minutes away from where we were staying. Runaway Island is definitely where the tourists are so we did the majority of our portraits in our gated community. I am SO THANKFUL we did. So many options and amazing backdrops for their pictures. The beach was so much less crowded, the houses were adorable, and palm trees were everywhere. How can you have a Florida wedding without palm trees in some pictures? I’m going to go head and put a plug in for Runaway Island if you are ever considering a destination wedding in Florida – it’s GREAT!!!! The people were AMAZING to work with, which is half the battle when planning from afar. The beach was perfect, and the venue upstairs above their restaurant was absolutely the perfect space.
Jaylin + Amanda chose to do a first look, which gave us the opportunity to take full advantage of all the photo opportunities. During their first look, they read their vows to one another. Jaylin gave Amanda a charm for her pandora bracelet & Amanda washed Jaylin’s feet. She hates feet & told him a long time ago, he would know if she loved him if she touched his feet. ha! It was a special moment in a nice secluded area. One of my favorite details about the portraits is that we were able to do all the group photos in front of our OWN beach house. We all LOVED our beach house & I thought it could not have been more perfect to document this space with the group. Not to mention, it kept them from walking all over in the extreme heat & sweating.
Amanda’s sister, Kelly of Kelly Moses Design, designed her entire invitation suite. Aren’t they GORGEOUS? Kelly’s husband, Corbett, became my personal assistant the morning of the wedding. We put that height to great use when it came to hanging the dress. I had a vision for the dress, but my short self could not execute it on my own. I love have Kelly + Corbett around to help me on the wedding day!!
Their wedding was very intimate including close family + friends. Although it was a small wedding, do not under estimate the dance floor. Everyone was dancing ALL NIGHT ! IT was AWESOME! So many great photos.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU Jaylin + Amanda for entrusting me to capture your destination wedding & making me feel a part of the group. I’m so thankful the Lord brought you two together. I love the way you look at one another & how mindful you are of each other. You are such a power couple & I’m thankful you are helping lead the way in a positive example for the world to see. Wishing you many blessings over your marriage. Love y’all!
