DIAMOND HEAD & KUALOA RANCH | OAHU, HAWAII PART 1

Where do I even begin with this trip to Hawaii this past January/February?! When planning this trip to partner with Fly View Aerial, I told my friend Hannah & ironically she was already going to be in Hawaii January-February. We decided to meet up & spend 5 days in Oahu before flying over to Kauai. Also on this trip was Micah, a family friend we have vacationed with for over 15 years. Micah expressed an interest in the photography industry so I told him, what better place to learn than in Hawaii? Soooo, that’s exactly what happened.

The three of us took on Oahu & had the extreme blessing of being hosted by the Moody family. Tom Moody, my dad’s childhood friend, has lived in Hawaii for decades & he and his wife Hillary very kindly took us in. We stayed at their home the first two nights in Honolulu with a stunning view of the city right in their backyard. Not only did they provide us housing, they gave us an amazing tour of their family owned ranch – the famous Kualoa Ranch!!!!!! Guys, this place is AMAZING!!!!!! It’s where HUNDREDS of the movie’s have been filmed – LOST, Along Came Polly, 50 First Dates, Jurassic World & so many more. We got to go on a jungle excursion through the Ranch & see many of the sets/props from movies or TV series. Then, Tom & Hillary took us on a private ATV tour throughout much of the land – it was AWESOME! Leaving the Ranch, they allowed us to stay in one of their beach houses by the ranch. Talk about a piece of heaven. I’ve never stayed so close to the beach (I’ll share those images in the next post!). We are so so thankful for the Moody’s kindness. They went above & beyond in hospitality. Definitely check out the Kualoa Ranch if you are traveling to Oahu – you will NOT be disappointed.

Our first full day in Oahu, we hiked Diamond Head and save gorgeous views. Micah’s aunt Mary also lives in Oahu so we visited her a few days/nights while we were there. She took us to an amazing dinner along the water & the night was full of laughter. She’s a great time!!
