KAAAWA | SUNRISES + HEADSHOTS IN HAWAII

I can’t believe I’m still working on these blog posts, but that’s okay – you loose track of time, most of the time, right?! Because we had some of the most gracious hosts, Tom & Hillary, they allowed Hannah, Micah & I to stay in their beach house that was literally a steps from the oceans – i mean, STEPS! I have never stayed in one of those ‘ocean-front beach houses’, but this trumped even that. It was one of the most beautiful sights my eyes have seen. Each morning, I would get up in time for sunrise, start a fresh pot of coffee, wrap up in a sweatshirt and plant my chair in the sand. I have NEVER seen the sun like I experienced on these mornings. It was as if I could reach out and touch it (not really, but it seemed that close compared to any other sunrise). All of these landscape pictures are just at different times of the sunrise. Just when I thought it was not going to be a ‘good one’, my mind would be blown within minutes. Up from the water, so it seemed, came the large ball of gas in rays of color that were more beautiful than I can describe or even capture for that matter. These pictures truly do not do it justice, but it’s good enough for me 🙂

Because the lighting was perfect & Hannah and I are photographers, we took advantage of the moment to get some new portraits for us. Meanwhile, Micah was out snorkeling somewhere & we were just hoping he was still kicking out in the middle of the ocean 😉 hahaha !! Don’t worry, we got plenty of pictures of Micah during this trip, but obviously this was Hannah & I’s moment to get portraits on the private beach. A shout out to all my clients because it definitely is more awkward to be in front of the camera – even I ask Hannah, “What should I do?!”  You guys kill it & make it look so easy.

Enjoy our morning views from literally the deck of our beach house !! Again, thanks so much to the Moody family. What a blessing they are!!!

This last picture pretty much sums up our time in Oahu – sand between our toes, camera in hand or an acai bowl… fun thing is, Han should be holding the bowl & I should be holding the camera – that would have been more accurate hahaha
