Wow, 2016 was a big year full of travels & seeing people I love so dearly. I’m so thankful my career allows me to see places I only dream of & stay connected to people along the way.
I’m not someone who creates a long list of goals or a daily lister for that matter. I always make fun of my friends who can’t make a move without a list. Although I make fun of them, there are times I wish I were better at that, but for the most part, I don’t need a list to operate. So when it comes to ‘New Year’s Resolutions’ I don’t find myself truly thinking about those, except for ONE! I try to travel and get an authentic experience of a new state every year. I’m happy to look back and realize I traveled to 2 new states for the 2016 calendar year – Georgia & California! They were both quite a different experience, which is the best part about it. I did enjoy the food in Georgia better, but that was probably a given, right? 😉 Not only did I travel to those two states, I found myself in Indiana, South Carolina (3x), North Carolina, Pennsylvania (3x), and Arizona! Aside from the states, I found myself in FOUR COUNTRIES this year – Italy (Rome, Orvieto, Sienna, Cinque Terre, and Milan), Switzerland, France, and London! So many people to thank for their input & hospitality to make that trip become a reality.
There are so many things to reflect on when it comes to 2016, but one thing that stands out to me is PEOPLE! I’m such an extrovert and gain all my energy from others. I look back at all these pictures/trips, and I’m blown away at how many AMAZING HUMANS are in my life. I’m very passionate about community living & doing life with other people. I don’t just have a handful of people, but A LOT of people from all over the world. The Lord has been so good to me in providing me the Christ-minded community I need to be encouraged, equipped, and supported. I love these people even more than the places.
Enjoy journeying through my work & personal travels, and events of 2016 starting & ending in South Carolina!! FOUR really good friends got married this year, 3 of which I photographed their weddings. It was the year of my Golden Birthday, which everyone thinks I made up, but if you can find it on Google, it’s real!! hahaha! Here’s to 2017, turning 28, visiting new places, and embracing the undeserved grace/love of God. Aside from travel goals, my only goal for 2017 is to go deeper in the knowledge of Christ & become more like him. I want the places I travel to to have an impact on the future Kingdom, and love the people along the way, well.
