SOUTH CAROLINA | CHARLESTON, HILTON HEAD, BOTANY BAY

PINIMAGEI was recently talking about Botany Bay with someone, which made me realize I never finished editing my trip to South Carolina from June, nor posted it. Story of my life… I feel a little guilty sometimes when I have my own work I want to edit, but all these weddings or sessions I must edit for clients. It’s a great problem to have, but time just goes by way too fast. I decided I was going to finish South Carolina & London before I head into the crazy month of October!!

Earlier this summer (June) I traveled down to the beloved South Carolina. We have good family friends & high school friends who live there now, which make the state all that sweeter. I stayed with the Trephan family & made a great week out of it. I also had sessions lined up for Charleston & one on Hilton Head Island!! Side note: I WILL travel for sessions to these epic places – come on!! BOOK ME!!

The first full day, I had a morning session in Charleston & then made the day exploring Charleston, yet, one more time. You can always walk around & find new treasures, but perhaps, I will choose to do that in the fall next time. It was so so so so hot!! I know, Duh! We went to the adorable coffee shop called Black Tap coffee – HIGHLY recommend it. The food & coffee were delicious. My friend, Kate, met Heather and I downtown and we continued our adventure. We found the CUTEST boutique – again, highly recommend. They are more than a store. It’s called Be the Change Boutique. Every items sold/bought has an organization it donates to.

One day, Heather & I also went to the Magnolia Plantation. It was gorgeous. So many pictures of that below. You literally just walk and explore all the beauty. We did see a family of raccoons, which was kinda gross. I’m sorry, I just hate those things…

My favorite adventure I went on with the Trephan family was Botany Bay. If you have never been, YOU MUST! It’s unlike any thing I have ever seen. An older couple owned the land & taxes were so high, they had to sell. The state owns it & it is to remain completely untouched. You can even take a seashell without getting fined. Some people were laying out, but it’s land to be explored, for the most part. Enjoy those photos because it’s one of my favorites.

One of the last things I did was travel down to Hilton Head to capture the Cooleridge family on their family vacation. I love these people & how they just welcomed me into their memories. I spent the day at the beach with them & the evening taking pictures. You can view both sessions here & here !!!
