Where do I even begin with this wedding?! The hidden details of this day are simply beautiful. If you missed the first post about the venue and behind the scenes, visit it HERE. Many traveled to Bryson City, North Carolina to gather for the wedding of Corey + Maggie. The ceremony was perfectly placed with the Smoky Mountains in the backdrop. What a DREAM!
First, this day was very special to begin with because Maggie’s parents were celebrating their own wedding anniversary the exact same date!! How sweet is that? We captured some beautiful photos of the lovely Mr. + Mrs. Mathey as well so we could document this milestone in their lives. During the reception, Maggie also made an announcement and called them out to the dance floor to have their own special dance.
As I begin photographing the details of the wedding, I learned more and more of their significance. Maggie literally has the best sister and maid of honor. She is organized and very intentional. Jesse created an ‘advent’ calendar leading up to the wedding day with different gifts. One of the gifts on her wedding day was an envelope full of collected notes from all of Maggie’s family & to be husband. She also had the cutest bracelet made that had their wedding date coordinates engraved. Seriously?! LOVE IT! Jesse isn’t the only intentional one though, Maggie herself did the cutest thing for Jesse’s gift. She bought an adorably Lilly Pulitzer planner that was already noted in. Maggie sent her through a little scavenger hunt throughout the planner with important dates, which ended on the BIG surprise. See, Jesse was moving to London in just a couple weeks from the wedding so Maggie had purchased a ticket already to go visit her next year!! You will see a picture of that below…
During the ceremony, the two stood under the beautiful creation of her father’s hands. He built that, while family and friends finished the final touches with a beautiful floral arrangement. One of my all time favorites- simply gorgeous!! Instead of a unity candle or sand ceremony, these two decided to water a tree that will be planted in their future home. I LOVE the details of this part. This was a Hemlock tree & in case you missed the first post, they got married at the Hemlock Inn in North Carolina. They even went a step further and each gathered dirt/soil from each of their homes to be poured into it. LOVE!!!!
It was seriously the perfect day for these two. They had so many family and friends travel from all over to celebrate with them. Because everyone staying there, Corey + Maggie were able to visit and spend quality time with everyone who made an effort to attend. Their day was picture perfect & I aimed to capture an adventurous & wilderness feel to their destination wedding in the Smokies!!! They share a love for the mountains and even followed their wedding with a backpacking honeymoon to the West Coast!!! Best wishes to Mr. + Mrs. Pelle!!!
